The RESULTS are IN! ... (and they're heavy!)

Omaha Symphony patrons who attended this past weekend’s concerts with The Beach Boys not only supported their orchestra at the performances, but also supported community members who need a helping hand. In response to a food drive coordinated by the Omaha Symphony and The Food Bank of Omaha, concertgoers donated 396 pounds of food items. In addition to exceptional taste in music, it’s clear our patrons also display big-hearted generosity.
All donations directly benefit The Food Bank of Omaha. This food drive is part of the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation “Million Dollar Match.”

Help the hungry, while having “fun, fun, fun” at the Omaha Symphony Beach Boys concerts!

The Omaha Symphony and The Food Bank of Omaha have partnered to hold a food drive March 27-29 during the symphony’s concerts at the Holland Performing Arts Center. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to these performances. Donation drums will be located at each of the hall’s three ground level entrances. All donations will go directly towards The Food Bank of Omaha. This food drive is part of the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation “Million Dollar Match.”
This weekend effort is part of a nationwide initiative called “Orchestras Feeding America,” organized by the League of American Orchestras, Feeding America (the nation’s largest hunger relief organization), and Participant Media. The large-scale effort coincides with the release of The Soloist, an upcoming film based on the true-life relationship between a newspaper columnist and a gifted string player struggling with mental illness and homelessness. The Soloist, starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr., is a testament to the redemptive power of music and a reminder of our connections to the most vulnerable among us.
This March 27-29, give the gift of nourishment while your soul is nourished by the beauty and inspiration of music!
